Nikki

When I decided to write my "31 Days of Family and Friends Who Inspire Me," one of the people who popped into my mind was my friend, Nikki.  Nikki is fun, spunky, creative, talented, energetic, compassionate, musical, giving, spontaneous, stylish, kindhearted, and inspiring.  I'm thankful for Facebook so I can continue to get a peek into this gal's amazing life that God has given her.

Nikki and I met our freshman year of college in 1996 when we were on the same floor in the dorm.  Nikki loved music and loved to laugh.  Then, the summer after our sophomore year, I had the privilege of getting to spend a whole summer with her.  We traveled together in a van as part of the Concordia Outreach Team.  We led Vacation Bible Schools together, sang concerts, did youth group events and stayed with host families all across Minnesota and Wisconsin. It was a wonderful experience.  We sang a ton and laughed even more!

Nikki married a band teacher and together they have three beautiful and blessed children.  Nikki is an amazing mom!  Some examples... She throws fabulous themed birthday parties and even makes and decorates her own cakes for them.  She has her "Elf on the Shelf" doll doing kind and educational activities.  She gets her kids to be bell ringers for Salvation Army.  They are involved in music and sports and Nikki is their biggest fan.  They each have their own unique personalities and interests that Nikki nurtures and appreciates.  She is amazing!
So, Nikki inspires me to try to be fun, spunky, creative, talented, energetic, compassionate, musical, giving, spontaneous, stylish, kindhearted, and inspiring too...just like her.  I'm thankful God put us together as friends.
